Phenomenal total renovation of an historic downtown Sarasota building. Two floors inside, each with a beautiful bar, local artwork, and comfortable seating. It's like walking into Paris! Great outdoor patio to enjoy the Floridian evenings. Superb global cuisine for any price range, fantastic craft cocktails and the best Happy Hour in town, half off all drinks (well and top shelf) as well as all beer and bottles of wine. Live music most nites.

My friend and I had a delicious dinner at Umbrellas 1296 at the beginning of July, while on a trip from New York The menu choices were great- for every taste! I had escargots, Brussels' sprouts and the salmon. Everything was delicious! My friend was thrilled with his steak and Mexican Salad. We also had Al Capone drinks- loved them! The stuff was very kind and manager come to the table and asked us if we were pleased with food.
The decor in the restaurant is modern and creative- lots of blue and grey, beautiful paintings, gorgeous painted walls and mirrors- really helped to created cheerful atmosphere. The patio is probably on of the most beautiful in town- blue and pink umbrellas, nice tables and chairs and live music that we got to enjoy after dinner. A must! Highly recommend.

Just had a couple of drinks. The bar staff was absolutely amazing. Funny personable and made me killer Jen and tonics. Absolutely will go back. Very attractive people go there. Including myself. LOL.
