Summer House Steak & Seafood

Celebrated our anniversary here. Simple happy hour at the bar. Staff decorated the bar with rose petals and a candle then comp'd us a desert and champagne. Food was very good. Atmosphere was very nice. Not loud at all even when busy. Complementary valet parking. It was worth the drive to siesta key.

Service, presentation, and ambiance were top notch. Food was properly prepared and tasty. The issue was value. This was not the finest steak house that I have had the pleasure of dining. However, the price was right there with the finest. Definitely not bad. Still enjoyable.

Summer House was a good alternative to the typical higher end Seafood and Chophouses that we usually frequent. The winner here was the service and management more so than the food because handling a large party isn't always the easiest but they did fantastic. Food had great flavor, amazing appetizers and salads but most of the cuts (beef) were a tad bit overcooked. Great service!

On a local show, I had seen the chef from the restaurant demo a short ribs dish and a couple of cocktails. It all sounded good so we decided to try out the restaurant. I had reserved a table, but discovered that the bar menu items ( the short ribs) were not available on the regular menu. So we decided to eat at the bar and I cancelled the table reservation. But the restaurant was already aware that it was our anniversary. The hostess brought over a beautiful candle, spread real, red rose petals around the counter and presented us with a hand written anniversary card! From the bar menu, we ordered a couple of handcrafted cocktails ($10 each) and the short ribs on gnocchi, an Ahi/avocado stack and shrimp fritters ($8 each). From the regular menu, we ordered a five cheese mac n cheese with a jalapeno-bacon crust. Everything was delicious and presented artfully. Hot bread with butter was complimentary. At the end of our meal, the bar tender poured us champagne and then offered us a dessert--a liege waffle with vanilla ice cream, garnished with whipped cream and a caramel whiskey sauce. It was a sweet ending to the evening, pun intended! Both the quality of staff and service was exceptional. We were so impressed by the whole experience that we intend to come back frequently. Management/ownership here knows how to treat customers in a way that builds loyalty!

Summer House is a great, upscale addition to Siesta Key! My husband and I loved it so much that we went twice during our vacation. The steak was cooked perfectly as ordered, medium rare. The Brussels sprouts are off the chain... caramelized with bacon! The macaroni and cheese is thick and creamy. We got the lobster tail on our first visit but it wasn’t magical for the price. Waygu beef fat fries... really can’t go wrong with that. We also enjoyed the crab cake both nights. Service was good and the atmosphere is classy. Great place for a romantic evening because you can walk to the beach and catch the sunset after your meal. We will go back and next time, we’ll save room for dessert.
