Sharky's On the Pier

I ate at Finn's. The prices are very high. The food looks elegant, but the portions are small. I ordered an appetizer as my main meal, because it was one of the least expensive things on the menu and still cost $18. The food was delicious.

The food was excellent! My swordfish was perfectly cooked and the seasoning was phenomenal. Our server, Angelica was outstanding. The only thing that was a bit off putting was they other service staff pulling the fans away around 9:45, which made for a uncomfortable end to our dinner. The food, atmosphere, and service made up for it.

The beer prices are way overpriced. For two domestic beers in a 12 ounce plastic see-through cup (same cup you get $1 drafts at your local watering hole), those two beers were over $11. My wife had a bottle of Mich Ultra in a bottle which cost $6. For a family of five it’s very pricey. If taking three kids and two adults, expect to pay over $100. I posted once and the post was removed. We’ll see if it stays up this time! They apparently don’t like when you mention there 500 percent mark-up on the drinks!!! On the other hand, the food is pretty good. We’ve eaten there a few times and we were happy with our food choices. It was our second visit when we realized the beer prices. Great atmosphere with a nice view.

This place has plenty of outdoor seating, part of it is under umbrellas, part of it is under a straw roof with fans and wasn’t hot even on a hot day. You can see the Gulf from your seat. The food came out incredibly fast, and the restaurant wasn’t dead. It wasn’t peak time, but there were several other tables there. I’ve never had food come out so fast anywhere. Ordered food to go and that came at a reasonable time as well. The server was very good and polite. I would definitely visit this restaurant again. The kids meals were great portion sizes. Enough to actually fill up a kid.

Nice place right on the Gulf and Venice Pier!! I love that they have live music!! Still extremely crowded even on weekdays!!! The drinks leave a lot to be desired. Don't ask for Vodka martini because you just end up with SMALL plastic cup of straight Vodka not even a hint of vermouth!! Food is good, staff is friendly and helpful except for bartender!! Since we live just a few blocks away very convenient!! Been coming here a lot over the years!! Mostly for tourists and snowbirds, but nice for a change of pace!!!! Enjoy!!
