Great service, excellant food. Nice visit, will definitely be back. 3 of us, all different meals, all great.
This is my all time favorite restaurant. I have been here twice and always make time to eat while I visit Florida for vacations. Excellent food!
Very nice location hidden inside the old Alcazar hotel which is now a museum.
It is set up inside a former indoor pool which used to be fed by an artesian well.
The service and food were spot on the prices were very reasonable.
Reservations are recommended as there is limited seating and they are only.open for lunch.
The Shrimp Giovanni was very good, well cooked and prepared with fresh ingredients.
Food and service was lovely. Atmosphere was nice but very small section of tables. The only real problem is not the restaurant but the horrible parking problem at St.Augustine. Get there early plenty early to find parking. Parking is $15 all day or $2.50 an hour at meters with max of 3 hours. If you can find it.
This was my first visit to Cafe Alcazar and I will definitely be returning! We made a reservation here (it's highly recommended that you always book in advance!) for our department Christmas gathering and everything was perfect. We were greeted promptly, our server knew the specials and described them in detail, she answered our questions and made sure our special requests were accommodated. She was attentive but not overly so and our orders came out timely. I had the lunch "pick two" option with roast beef on wheat and French onion soup. The provolone on the soup was fresh and plentiful. It came out piping hot and the flavor was great (not too salty). The roast beef was also very fresh and tender. my coworker ordered escargot and said it was the best she's had.
The atmosphere is really special- such a historic location. The cafe is located where a casino pool once was (built in the 1800s). The restaurant closes at 3:00pm so be sure to go early! I wish we could've tried the wine- the list looked like a wonderful selection was available. Overall this was an excellent experience and I recommend anyone visiting St. Augustine give it a try.
