Ancient City Brunch Bar

This is one of those places where I could eat anything on the menu. It was recommended to us by my son who had eaten here a couple of times. We are always looking for something different and this place fit the bill.

We were warmly greeted immediately when we came to the door. The menu has a good selection of food items and beverages. We ordered a couple of cappuccinos and they came out perfect.

For breakfast we ordered the French toast sticks, Maplewood bacon, and quiche. Which interesting here is that the food is served on a charcuterie board. The presentation did not disappoint, and the food had an excellent taste all around. Realistically, we could’ve ordered two or the three of the items and still had plenty of food. I could see coming here with friends and ordering a couple of boards and sharing the food.

It’s unique experience here. Staff was great, food was great and ambience warm and friendly.

Let’s be clear. You are definitely paying for the beautiful presentation and the time and effort it takes to put these gorgeous boards together. The food is delicious, but you can see how the portion sizes stack up. I do want to address a few other comments though— the service was excellent. The bacon was thick and flavorful and definitely did not seem “pre-cooked”. Overall, if you’re looking for large portions of plain food, this isn’t it. But if you’re looking for something different and delicious, look no further!

It was a great experience. We enjoyed every bite of the food. We loved the potatoes and the dipping sauce for them. Chefs kiss.

The prices seem a little high but the presentation, flavor and relaxed atmosphere made it well worthwhile.

The staff were friendly and the place seemed super clean.

Left wanting more of those potatoes, but we were too full to order more!!

I’ve been to this place three times in the past year and I don’t live near here. I love coming to St. Aug. JUST for them. I’ll say the food is a little pricy per item but the good news is it’s very filling and delicious. Love their mimosa pitcher. When I first went the pitcher only had maybe two different juice options and I think there’s four now, LOVE that.
