Staff in midriff, civilian attire and whatever shoes.‼️

Picked up glass with bare hands. ‼️

    Where is bus boy? 🤦🏼‍♀️

    45 minutes wait
    Rooster decor ❤️🌈💫

    No water dropped. ❌

Glass for OJ instead of plastic ✅

Soda bar with classic old “granny mugs” 🦋

Napkins must be too expensive to give to a mom with a child. And the bathroom towels that fall on the floor must be cheap enough to just throw in the trash without cleaning anything else first. 🫵🏽🪞👆🏻🧼🫵🏽

The floors are disgusting. Extension cords visible and she was more worried about my dog being a tripping hazard than the brick by the front door. 💸

The Food is Amazing! I can tell that the owner was trying to bring back some of Grandma’s cooking! The Biscuits are perfect as if they came out of my grandmother’s kitchen after a fresh batch of flour was just milled! The Pumpkin pancakes reminded me of my brothers own recipe in the early 2000s .

The potatoes were perfect as was the Quiche! I can see why the wait was so long! The food alone is work the stop!

First timer here: I ordered the breakfast sandwich with bacon and home fries. I loved everything but the bun they used. It got mushy pretty quick in my opinion. I would return and try something else. The staff was very friendly and the atmosphere was relaxed.

Located in the historic Lincolnville district of St. Augustine, this was a local gem I was happy to hear about. The small parking lot on MLK and Kings Ferry Way was full, but we were able to locate a spot in the street nearby. We were told the wait would be about a hour but were seated within 45 minutes. They offered to take our number and text us when the table was ready, but we waited inside. Decided to try the Guava Pint Glass Mimosa. It was a nice twist to a traditional mimosa. The Chipotle pimento cheese with crackers and cucumbers was a nice start to lunch and the BBQ pulled pork and grits was delicious. While they were not able to accommodate my request for poached eggs, the over medium eggs were the perfect accompaniment. A dash of Cowgill's Datil Hot Pepper Sauce added the right amount of spice to the meal. I was also excited to try the peach butter and buiscut that I read was good enough to make you slap someone and was not disappointed.

Delicious, comfort food! We had the fried green tomatoes to start. Then we had "The Yard Bird" and the "Pressed Pastrami."

The fried green tomatoes had a perfect coating with subtle but excellent flavor in the batter. It had a crispy exterior without being overly greasy or heavy...just absolutely perfect.

The gravy for "The Yard Bird" had some very savory flavors within the gravy itself. If you are one who would want the chicken without the gravy, we feel you would still enjoy it because the chicken was fried just as well as the green tomatoes. We chose the collard greens for the side but wow...they were the main star of the dish!

The pastrami sandwich was filled with a wonderful, juicy, tender pastrami and press grilled to perfection.

We can hardly wait to visit St. Augustine again just so we can dine at The Blue Hen Cafe again!

The Blue Hen Cafe is such a cozy spot for a great breakfast! Their food is amazing! Everything we ate was delicious and had such attention to detail. Highly recommend the pumpkin pancakes!! These are the softest, most delicious pancakes I’ve ever had! We went twice, I got the 2 eggs meal with home fries and a pumpkin pancake, and the kings French toast. My husband got the biscuits and gravy both days. Also recommend the iced coffee (the ice cubes are frozen coffee!)
