Generous portions of deliciuos smoked brisket that melts in your mouth.
A tonic for the soul.
Had the Chopped Brisket sandwich which was very good. They have a variety of great tasting sauce as well.
I've been meaning to get by here for months, and finally did. I always liked the old "Satterfield's", and wanted to see how the new one compared. I got pulled pork and collards to go. The pulled pork was quite an improvement over the original. The original was good, but more chopped, and sauced than I like. The new is more of a true "pulled" pork, and not sauced. It was so tasty, sauce wasn't needed. The collards were loaded with smoked turkey, so much they were a meal on their own. I can't wait to try more of the menu!
Update. Came back to try the brisket. Best I've had! Don't go to Texas, go to downtown Macon!
We came by for Macon Burger Week and found the best burger served through this tent off the kitchen - I think they're renovating the dining room area. The patty was to die for (a combination of Angus chuck, spare ribs, and brisket), and then they smothered it in smoked brisket, pimento cheese, slaw, and sweet sauce. Of all the choices this week, THIS is the one I want to go back for again. I really hope this becomes a permanent menu item - although, I don't think $5 is nearly enough for the quality and quantity of food.
NO SAUCE NEEDED - real BBQ
Fantastic brisket - reminds me of brisket from Texas. Good smoke, great cook on it. Will return and the people are incredibly nice and are willing to answer any questions.
