La Scala Ristorante

I came across this restaurant on my last night of a one week trip in town and it indeed was best saved for last. This place combines sophistication and elegance in classy location. The used to be convent, has been remodeled with style keeping all the original details. The painted glass ceiling and chapel on the second floor are a show stopper. This supercedes a simple food experience, you can tour the place while enjoying your drink and encounter many other patrons during the process. The food is definitely classic italian with classic flavors. Delicious and heartwarming. Rich, simple and yet decadent. Try the baked olives for a pleasant surprise. The risotto with mushrooms as well as the hanger steak.

An "elevated" dining experience in an elaborate, historical building. Our appetizers, salads, entrees, and desserts were delicious. We look forward to visiting again and trying other items on the menu. Support local restaurants!

Celebrated our Daughter's recent Graduation from SCAD. The staff did an excellent job, and the food was top notch. We ordered the appetizers & wine ahead & everything went like clockwork for our party of 8. Our group ordered Pasta, Trout, Lasagna, Flounder. All plates were great. Very pleased that we selected La Scala for this special meal. Well Done!

We can't thank Libby and the team at La Scala enough for making our wedding truly a dream come true. The chapel was gorgeous and perfect! And the reception was amazing!!! The food was delicious, the room was stunning with the arrangement, flowers, and candle light, and the staff was so impressive and genuinely excited for us. I can't thank everyone enough! Our guests are still raving about how wonderful the entire evening was! Libby, La Scala's event planner, was easy to work with, professional, and went out of her way to ensure that we had everything we wanted. Absolutely hands down the best restaurant experience we've ever had. I owned a restaurant and managed a well known fine dining restaurant and Matthew and his staff definitely have it down to a science! Chef Stephen made food so perfect I never even thought about needing salt or pepper. Best food, service, ambiance and experience ever. If you don't eat at La Scala then you are missing out! Five stars aren't enough!
