Had some delicious Lamb Chops, sweet yams, steamed broccoli, yellow rice, and cornbread. Very good food with good music in the dining area.
Had the mashed potatoes, broil chicken and Mac n cheese. Delicious. One of the best soulfood restaurant in Savannah.
We tried the smothered pork ribs, fried fish, lima beans, and fried yellow squash. Bottled sodas and juices are available. We took dessert home: banana pudding and strawberry cake.
The place is basic, just four walls and some tables. The service is great. The people running this home style cafe are very pleasant and sincere in making you feel welcome. the quality of the food will have you planning another visit. The fish was piping hot and delicious. The ribs were fall-off-the-bone good and the chef flavors the rice with the rib juice for extra mmmmm. The squash is deep fried the right way and the lima beans are not your typical boring side.
Don't go here expecting to be wowed with a fancy atmosphere. Go here because you want to be wowed by southern flavors. Easiest 5 stars I've given in a while!
I just started going to this place and I have to say their food is good. I just had their banana pudding and it is really good. Home cooked and home made.
I stayed in downtown Savannah for a good period of time and had been looking for a reasonably priced soul food joint. I found it. This was hands down the BEST food I've had in a while. I had the smothered pork chops and rice and was able to choose two other sides. They offer desserts as well so I couldn't resist the parfait. Their menu is extensive so you'll have plenty options. Oh and the young lady running the front counter is amazing.
