My favorite seafood restaurant of all of the united states, whenever I am going near the area. I always stop by. I cannot urge how important this place is for a must eat at. The service is always great, fast and friendly. I would definitely say if your in the area this is a must eat at place and try it for yourself. I have visited many seafood restaurants throughout travelling the USA and found this one to be at the top.
The Original Crab Shack in Tybee Island is a great place to visit, especially if you’ve never been before. We make it a point to visit whenever we are in the area. It’s like a tradition.
We ordered the Snow Country Boil this time which is the typical Low Country Boil (if you don’t know what that is it comes with boiled shrimp, potatoes, smoked sausage and corn on the cob) with Snow Crab Legs. The crab legs were fantastic. Cooked perfectly which allowed the meat to come out easily. The sausage, potatoes and corn were seasoned perfectly. The shrimp on the other hand could use some work. The shell was a pain to get off because it was over cooked or sat too long and of course since it’s in the shell you have to remember to devein it yourself.
The atmosphere is very relaxed, but there isn’t any air conditioning inside. You have a choice of outside or inside to sit.
The price is pretty steep. For 3 adults with 1 alcohol drink a piece and 3 kids it was close to $200. So make sure to bring some money, but you leave satisfied for the amount of food you get.
Oh man the deviled crab is so delicious. The food comes out quick and is amazing of hundred percent of the time. The wait staff was incredible friendly and helpful. Then after the food you have to go feed the alligators. Nothing can quite describe the feeling of feeding apex predators off of a bobby pin.
The restaurant itself is worth a visit. Very unique atmosphere on the water! The food was amazing - One of the best meals of my life! The sampler platter is worth it if you’re new to low country boils. You can probably add another person to the suggested number of people and be fine. If you’re in the Savannah area, check it out!
