Kelly's Jamaican Foods

This is by far the best restaurant I've eaten at in a VERY LONG TIME!! Everything tasted great, but beware the cabbage is very spicy. Kelly is also a super friendly guy. I can't wait to go back on Friday to try the oxtails and goat curry (both are only available on Friday, but get there early as both sell out quick!)

This restaurant is family-owned and run by Jamaican immigrants and has been operating for 12 years in its current location. Very simple and authentic menu hand written on a dry erase board daily. The food is very good, as is the counter order service. Many dishes are spicy. I love the jerk chicken. If spice isn't your thing, try the grilled salmon. Essentially, you choose a meat/poultry and two sides. I recommend the mac and cheese, and if you like spice, the spicy cabbage (tastes sweet going in but has some afterburn). No-frills restaurant with indoor and outdoor seating. Very fair pricing. Give it a try.

Such great food! Haven't lived in Athens in over ten years and walked in the other day and Kelly recognized me and welcomed me back.. So nice to be remembered (even though I was a regular). Beware, the heat builds ha!

Giving this place a 4. But would have been higher but didn't have a lot of choices. I got the curry chicken it was good but no plantain so my meal felt incomplete. Being a Saturday I thought there would be more selection. However, the price is great and you get a lot of food as well .

Fantastic place. I drive about 40 miles from my house just to get the awesome food. If you don't like this place you either don't like spicy food (which if not they have some non spicy things also) or you need to bring me some of what your eating because this place is spectacular.
