Tamez Barbecue

I had the pleasure of having meals cooked by Alejandro Tamez. He really did amazing job and really passionate about his food that he pours his heart and hard work into it. I highly recommend y'all stop by there and check it out. You will not regret it.

Really amazing food! The brisket was melt in the mouth tender and perfectly seasoned, sides were delicious as well. Probably the best barbecue I’ve had in Athens. The day I ordered they had smoked cabbage as a special and wow I had no idea cabbage could ever taste that good. The drive through option is also very convenient. We’ll definitely be back.

I've got family in Austin, TX and look forward to my yearly trip out west. BBQ in the southeast is good, but it just doesn't compare to Texas-style brisket. I was really excited when I heard a TX-style bbq place was opening in Athens, and my first time there didn't disappoint. I got the brisket plate with beans and collards. The brisket was great...extremely moist, nice bark, and it almost melts in your mouth when you take a bite. The sides were good, but honestly I just went for the brisket. A+, I will be back!

Visiting from south Texas and was skeptical of "Texas BBQ" up here in GA. Tamez BBQ did not disappoint. This place is legit Texas BBQ! If you're looking for great BBQ Brisket and unbelievable cornbread this is the spot. Highly recommended.

Delicious! My husband is from Texas and has trouble finding GOOD brisket here in GA. This was amazing. Best we've found, so far! I'm not big on vinegar based sauce, but the brisket didn't need it anyway. Great place!
