I've been going every single year since 2014. It's a great way to be introduced to sooo many different restaurants in Atl. I usually get VIP tickets, and I love trying out all the wines and other drinks. Good entertainment and free goodies to take home.
The tickets were a bit expensive but you can definitely make it worth the money by going around to get all the free stuff and attending the cooking classes and shows. We got to watch Jonathan Waxman cook right in front of us and eat the delicious food he cooked, which was absolutely amazing. If you only go around to the booths where you spend your food tickets that come with admission, it’s not worth your time or money.
2019 Review:
We had a another very enjoyable time this year. Like last year, everything we tasted was excellent. There were quite a few new restaurants this year so we got to experiment and taste lots of new things. The park of course was great, the ground was a little mushy (can't do much to stop rain) but there are plenty of sidewalks so it was kind of not really a problem. Now the shuttle was quite a bit faster this year. We only waited 2 or 3 minutes at the MARTA station, and then about 10 minutes when it was time to leave. Can't wait till next year! I have to remember to wear sunscreen!
2018 Review:
Super fun event, and O4W park is a terrific location. It's fun casually winding through the park with a drink in hand and tasting the different kinds of food from all the different restaurants. Everything was delicious. Instead of trying to park, we took the train and then the shuttle, which worked out really well. PS: Dress comfortably. I had 20 "taste points", spent them all and ate way too much, and wish I had worn some nice loose pants instead of skinny jeans.
I worked this festival. It seemed pretty good. They need to work on the wristbands and the ticketing overall. It was pretty. The location seems alright but they may need to look into a different venue. I will be attempting to attend this years Taste of Atlanta. I love the fact that they have vegan options.
We had fun. It was not hard to get there, parking was available and the food offerings were pretty diverse. We found a few new prospects for future dining. It was a great way to spend time outdoors, enjoy the park that is a storm water detention area (not obvious at all) and get fed some very nice bites. We may come back next year as well.
