Lake & Oak

Just ate at Lake & Oak for the first time today and I'm mighty impressed. I had the chicken, pimento cheese, and collard greens sandwich. It was awesome. When I ordered it, I thought to myself, Well, this can go either way. Let me tell you, it went the right way: chicken was smoked beautifully and very tasty; just a schmear of pimiento cheese (which was just right, IMO; a tribute to the sandwich's overall being beautifully balanced); and a heaping amount of collard greens (again, just the right amount). I ordered Brunswick stew as the side and it was very nice, too. I'm not a BBQ expert or anything, but I've had my share of different Brunswick stews, and Lake & Oak's strikes me as a traditional straight-up version, which I thought was just right. As with the sandwich, the quality of the ingredients and care in preparation stood out to me in the stew. Nicely done. Will be going back again.

Easily the best brisket in Atlanta! I finally tried this place after being tempted for weeks by the Big Green Eggs they always have going out front. The entire staff were also so incredibly friendly and attentive on top of their already incredible food. I'll 100% be back with friends to show off my new favorite barbecue spot!

Ribs tasted really GOOD. Chef who cooked them has an awesome "Rub" on the Ribs. The Ribs were Smoked really well and Tender. Their Mac-N-Cheeze is the Bomb. Onions, Pickles, and Okra were Marinated in some sort of Dressing or Vinaigrette which also tasted good. Met the General Manager who was both informative and cool. Felt Welcome and Well taken care of. Enjoyed ourselves. Definitely going back.

This is some damn good BBQ. If you like Community or Fox Bros., you will love this place. My first trip I had the Brisket and Rib tips. Bark on the brisket was spot on. You can taste the smoke in the Rib tips. the brisket as a perfect smoke ring and the rib tips were tender and smokey. Would give five stars but I think they should shave a little more fat off the Brisket. This is my go to BBQ spot in Atlanta metro.

We ordered a lot, and everything was good! The 1 lb brisket was great. Very fatty, but that's to be expected with brisket sometimes. Red and mustard sauce worked well with it. 4 smoked wings. 1/2 rack of ribs, which were very tender and smokey. Great rub, doesn't need sauce! Mac and cheese is good. Not greasy and oily. Subtly creamy. Collard greens with smoke turkey were amazing. I could eat a pint by itself. Ordered the jalapeno corn by accident. Its a well executed creamed corn. I hesitated to try the mustard based cabbage and brussels slaw, but I really liked it. Will order it again. The pickles and onions that come with the meats were a surprise hit. Great pickles. Also, the Texas toast is unique with what seemed to be sprinkled dry rub or seasoning salt and and butter. Texas toast, meat, pickles and onions; they give you everything needed to make your own BBQ sandwhich. We ordered online and then went to pick up. It was ready on time when we arrived. Website used to place order is a little odd because some entree names specify that no sides are included, but you have to select a side to add it to your cart, and the side is included when you pick up your order. Can't wait to go back.
