BBQ Cafe

I got the grilled salmon and asparagus plate with shrimp added. I paid around $20 for the small plate of food you see pictured. Fish was small and portion of asparagus was small.

The food was all 100% fresh and delicious - but for what I paid I am used to more food.

I stopped at BBQ Cafe for the first time yesterday - it will not be the last. The pulled pork was very good but I’m here to rave about the Brunswick stew, it is phenomenal! I’m picky about my stew, and this took me back to childhood. It’s as delicious as my Nanny & Mother used to make, and their cornbread is perfection. I’m ready for more stew!

An added bonus is the (mostly) biodegradable take-out packaging.

Delicious brisket, rack of ribs, and baked beans. The brisket was moist and tender with a delicious smoky flavor. The ribs were crusty on the outside and fall off the bone tender underneath. Definitely will return. The portion of sauce on the side was generous and the sauce itself was tangy/sweet and rich with flavor.

Overall good meal but I want to go back to try the other meats. Brisket was good but not great. A little less tender than I usually prefer mine. I'm also particular about my Brunswick Stew. I typically prefer a thicker stew.

Very friendly staff and a great location in downtown Decatur, short walk from the square and Marta.

This restaurant is surely one of the finest place to eat in the area. Whenever I go there I am incredibly glad. They always keep their very high standard service and the highest level of meals they serve. You surely will enjoy this this restaurant. Highly recommended.
