Kafenio Avondale

This was a win! We've been looking for a legit Greek place and this is it. Polite and hardworking staff. Food came quick. Whole place is clean as it can be. Food was fresh, delicious, and very generous portions. We will be back again.

Turns out this place has really good breakfast! It's pricey, but good. Much better experience and food than lunch when they first opened. Fancy coffee was very good too.

This place is my new go-to! Not a single detail was overlooked here. The ambiance is bright, clean, and comfortable. I love the bar area - great for solo diners. I was thoroughly impressed by the quality of the food. The gyro meat was seasoned perfectly, the salad was very fresh, and the tzaziki was delicious and authentic tasting. They even have gluten free pita here! The wine selection is excellent as well - whoever curated that list knows their stuff. The service was warm and friendly, and I love that they're open for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Kafenio totally exceeded my expectations and will definitely be a weekly (maybe even daily) staple for me.

Went to this new place (Greek Mediterranean Cafe) in Decatur called Kafenio with my girlfriend for brunch. The portions were much bigger than expected for the money and the taste was outstanding. Everything was freshly made. Great service by everyone and the place was brand new and very clean. The restrooms stated "Whatever" on the doors which I thought was very funny. They also serve dinner and have a full bar service with flat screen TVs. I will be back at night to have some drinks and dinner. Again outstanding place and I will be back with my girlfriend and with my friends.

Quiet and simple — oh, and delicious! The coffee is smooth, prepared originally by pour over. Hot or cold, the coffee is smooth and pure without the acid bitterness. Bagels and pitas are fresh and tasty. This is a great place to enjoy your morning with easy access and pleasant environment. I’d be shocked if you were disappointed.
