Shun Xing Restaurant

Been going here for 5.5 years. There are 2 other Chinese take outs in my area but I don't even bother. Shun Xing is not gourmet, but is exceptionally good for what it is- short order Chinese take-out.

Quality ingredients. Short wait ( and sometimes no wait if you call in). Great tasting food. Good sized quantity. Great prices. Relatively healthy (though no steamed option) for fast take-out food. The cashier is neither friendly nor rude. She keeps a stoic demeanor, which is good for those who aren't looking to be pampered or coddled.

I order only vegetarian and seafood dishes so I can only comment on those. Shrimp are large and plentiful in dishes (except chow mein which are small shrimp and few). Tofu is firm and well-fried. Broccoli and bell pepper taste fresh, though I'm certain the mushrooms, bamboo shoots, and chestnuts are canned. Egg rolls are very good- both veg and shrimp- no hidden pork in them.

I came down here from New York and this is the only Chinese food I go to. I heard the owner also came down from New York a few years ago. Their portions are decent and prices are better than other Chinese I’ve went to in Georgia.

My must try list:
-crab rangoon (cheese inside)
-shrimp/chicken/beef with broccoli
-curry shrimp/beef/chicken (love their curry sauce)
-boneless spare ribs (pork dipped with sweet and sour sauce)
-WINGS (New York style whole wings)
-fried dumplings (pork inside)

We enjoyed the fried whole chicken wings, they were nice and crispy. I also had chicken and broccoli which was not good as what I used to get there. I couldn't tell that was chicken, it didn't look or taste like anything resembling chicken. There are probably more good things on the menu I can order. I'll try something else. There"s easy access to the restaurant, plenty of parking, restroom for customers. Dine in or take out, they can accommodate small groups.
