I came back and this time... the food was fresh hot and delicious... i love their curry chicken patties...
I love the stew chicken , the chicken noodle soup w/ dumplings and fresh lemonade - and friendly people!! Try the home made patties too. Yuummmm
My first time eating here randomly after climbing Stone Mountain. My friend and I were starving and according to Google every restaurant nearby were closing soon except for Nice Mon. The restaurant location looks like a hole in the wall...but the ambiance feels so very welcoming like someone's home. My friend is vegan and Mom (the owner) suggested a Jamaican vegetarian soup with coconut milk. When I tell you it was the most DEVINE soup EVER...so very flavorful and hearty! We even ordered some to go. I can't wait to try the other dishes!
I was in shock. I was greeted immediately upon entry and the clerk was friendly and helpful. My food came out fast and boy, was it delicious! The rice and peas were flavorful, the cabbage was just right, and the oxtails and butter beans were seasoned to perfection and the gravy was amazing. I usually hate gravy but it was amazing. It’s rare that you find good service and tasty jamaican food in conjunction.
Legit, authentic Caribbean cuisine. The goat curry was properly spicy and tender. A lot of places get rice and peas (beans) wrong, but Nice Mon has some of the best I’ve had in the States.
As some other reviewers stated, the service is also authentically Jamaican - meaning that it runs on island time. If you’re in a rush, call and order ahead, but if you have some patience and want a taste of delicious Jamaican favorites, Nice Mon might be the best Caribbean meal in Atlanta.
