Folks Kitchen

Okay, I hate to admit this, but being a southerner, I love chicken gizzards. Folks has home cooking and all of the vegetables were very good as were the chicken gizzards and livers. Comparable to Colonnade or Mary Mac's. Service was a little slow but it was worth the wait.

Great service, wonderful food. Generous portions at a decent price BBQ chicken was extremely good. Fired pickles, fried cheese, fried tomatoes, and peach muffins were excellent!! Waitress was attentive to our needs and refilled glasses without having to ask.

We stopped in one day for lunch the food was pretty good however I'm fairly certain some of the food was frozen and /or canned. Not that there's anything wrong with that however we weren't that impressed with it. The service was very good though and the restaurant was very clean so that's a big plus.

We were traveling, and we were looking for a good soul food restaurant to go to. We decided to go to Folks Kitchen. Let me just say...it was absolutely delicious!! The food came out hot, chicken was fried to perfection, and cooked just like my grandma use to make. The portions were plentiful. We were so pleased with our waitress, Cecily. She was very attentative and pleasant. Overall it was an excellent dining experience. We will definitely be back!!

Waitress, Liz was perfect, not too bothersome or neglectful. The food tasted good and was fresh. I tried the squash casserole and it was very good, not your everyday squash dish. The restaurant and bathroom was clean. Parking was convenient to the entrance. Family style dining.
