Fat Matt's Rib Shack

This place is GREAT! My husband and I went there tonight for dinner. At first glance inside, it looks like the decor of a dive bar.

However, it is super clean and non smoking - aside from the ribs and chicken! The barbecue sauce is to die for, and I had the best collard greens of my life.

The wait staff was so darn nice, and the blues singers made it even more fun (and I can be quite a Karen when it comes to live music). Don’t believe the negative reviews. Thanks for a great meal!

Yummy. I'm from out of state and my friend told me to come here and it did not disappoint. Got a half slab and the pork sandwich. Coleslaw and collard greens. Don't forget the RUM baked beans! Shh don't tell anyone ...great local spot.

Small, intimate, and definitely been there for awhile from the look of it. A quintessential 'hole-in-the-wall' eatery that you absolutely MUST try. This place was recommended to us by several locals so we hit them up around 2 p.m. for lunch and it was still packed with a crowd. You order at the counter, then take a seat with a number to have your food brought to you once it's ready.

The cashier moved quickly and the menu was easy to navigate (on the wall). They use a mustard based barbecue sauce, which has a tangy flavor. The chicken fell right of the bone and the ribs were cooked perfect. It's a small location with indoor and outdoor seating. Inside seating is limited to a handful of tables.

One of the best restaurants in the city. Great ribs and sides. Live music every night. I always take friends and family from out of town here, and they always love it. The staff is friendly. Place gets crowded at peak hours. Plan to wait. Small restaurant space (no more than 20 tables). Try the brunswick stew; it's fantastic.

Hands down the beat ribs I’ve ever had. The meat falls off the bone and the spices are spot on. Not too sweet and not too spicy either. Paired with their sauce, I’m in bliss every time I eat their ribs. Eat it at the restaurant and don’t take it to go the first time so you can experience the magic.

I take every friend who visits to this Atlanta institution.
