My husband and I make sure that we go to Southern Art if at all possible when we stay downtown to run the Peachtree Road Race each year. We have not done the race for the last two years, but two girlfriends and I went down just to eat at Southern Art for a special treat. We were not disappointed. The chicken sandwich and truffle fries were amazing, and we had an appetizer of their biscuits with special butter and jelly along with a pickled vegetable garnish. My out-of-town girlfriends were very impressed. Southern Art does not disappoint! I can hardly wait for our next visit.
Stopped in for lunch & they had a simple buffet of salad, soup, mashed potatoes, green beans, grilled catfish & fried chicken. It was fast & pretty good. It reminded me of a conference buffet. Decent but nothing special.
Some of the best fried chicken and mac & cheese in town plus excellent service (twice) from Chris R and a great lady named "H"! Truffle deviled eggs for appetizers and the brussel sprouts as side dish are reaaaally good. Great upscale straight ahead southern comfort food. Located inside the Intercontinental Hotel but the restaurant validates self-parking. They have several bourbon flights.
Excellent. The service was superb, and the buttermilk chicken is some of the best in town!!. My favorite is the 12 layer red velvet cake served to my date for his birthday. Our server, Chis W. was simply amazing!! His service was impeccable with an amazing energy. JOB WELL DONE!!
I have eaten here on several occasions for leisure and recently stayed for a week for a work conference and my experience has been inconsistent in both service and taste of food in both scenarios. It's such a beautiful restaurant and they have amazing drinks, I love Bourbon, so I return in hopes of rediscovering that first experience. If you've never been it's definitely worth at least one visit, the deviled eggs are amazing and the 16 layer (I think it's 16) red velvet cake is one of a kind. It is a bit pricey but hotel restaurants usually are.
