Great dive bar, with a trendy feel to it. If you've spent a bit of time in the Ansley mall/Midtown area, you've heard of this place. First off, pricing was so low, I thought the food not be as good. Boy was I wrong. I ordered the Mother Clucker with house chips. Probably the best chicken sandwich in Atlanta. (Prove me wrong). Beer selection wasn't that great but I enjoyed the local brews they have on tap. Great service, and decent crowd. I'd love to try the other items on the menu, so any suggestions for my next dish would be great.
My wife just wanted a baked potato.
We had just arrived in Atlanta from Chicago, and my pregnant wife whose cravings vary said she could go for a baked potato. Not knowing where else to turn, I put “baked potato” into Google Maps and The Highlander was the top result.
They did not disappoint. It’s pretty good pub food for the price and I wouldn’t hesitate to come back. I got the signature Highlander burger with all the fixings, and it was great. My side of slaw left something to be desired, but it’s legit not fair to complain about pub Cole slaw when the burger and aforementioned baked potato really hit the spot.
My wife reports the ladies bathroom was really clean, and she wanted to make sure I included that in my review, as that’s not a given at all pub restaurants.
Solid dive bar with good food. The chilli is excellent. I had a salad which was decent too. You can smoke inside which is a rarity these days. Nice staff who are attentive and friendly in doing so. It's in an odd location for sure.
Fun place. Loved the music when we were there. The hardcore cover on a John Denver song and other jokes that would easily slip by a casual listener. Loved the fish and chips and of course Bushmils whisky.
Food was quite good. Managed to get close parking which was a gift. Service was fine. It was toward evening and it got quite dark at the outside tables, would have enjoyed a little more light. Definitely going back.
