Wow if I could give this place 10 stars I would! First off service was great. We walked in and was there for seconds our first time and the owner, Rob, came over quickly to seat us. He was warm and welcoming. We came back 3 more times, simply because when you have great service, & great food you want to come back. My boyfriend tried the New York Strip Steak, Grilled Chicken Wrap with some kind of Carolina sauce, Burger and for breakfast: Croissant with bacon, egg and cheese. He absolutely loved it!! I had the Birdie Sandwich, grilled, each of the three times we came for dinner, because it’s delicious! For breakfast, I had biscuits & sausage gravy. By far the best breakfast and dinner restaurant on the island! Highly recommend! Wish it was closer to home!!
Great service. Hot good food! We stopped In at 10:45 am for breakfast. They serve breakfast until 11:00 am. Awesome as most places quit serving breakfast at 10:30 am.
Excellent food and service. I had the blackened shrimp and felt like it was a god portion for the price paid. Hidden gem for sure.
Two members suggested to eat here because it was really good. I posted the picture of the delicious waffle fries! I had the chicken salad wrap. It was delicious! I asked my server how long they had been open and turns out they opened up in March 2021. It was McCormick’s(I don’t think I spelled that right). This place is arguably the best restaurant on the island! It does not have the beach or marsh view, however it does have plenty of tables, inside and outside, and the view is of the beautiful green grass from the golf course. There is plenty of parking for golfers and people looking to get a bite to eat. All the tourists will pack out every restaurant at all times of the day, but this place, right now, is a jewel in the middle of Jekyll Island. For now, I can almost guarantee that you never have to wait for a table here. The owners were so nice and own another restaurant on the island as well. I think it was the Sunrise Grille. Seriously y’all need to go here!
Best Kept Secret on Jekyll - So Far!
The island is becoming more and more popular and it is harder to find a place to get a bite to eat! Today - a Tuesday no less - the island was heaving. We thought about finding a place to eat and remembered that Rob had recently taken over the restaurant at the golf course.
Rob knows how to run a restaurant, having been bartender at the Hampton for many years, and running the successful Sunrise Grill in the Beach Village. Best fried shrimp in Georgia!
Not many tourists think to look at the golf course for dining. So when we got there for a late lunch, it was just a few golfers. We ordered two beers and the oyster po'boy and oyster platter. The service was great and the food was scalding hot - the way it should be! Oysters melted in your mouth. It was wonderful!
Of course, I don't expect it to remain "undiscovered" for long, and as I understand it, they are doing dinners several nights a week now, with live music.
Friday night is a favorite with the locals. We'll be sure to stop by!
