First time dining at Taqueria Tsunami and my experience was just "ok". Their description about using the finest ingredients seems a little misleading. The tortillas they used for the tacos were cold. The carnita taco was just a big lump of meat topped with a little slaw. Not easy to bite into.
The cauliflower appetizer was ok. Needed some sauce which the menu said it was tossed in but was lacking.
We arrived at 8:00pm and our server was also the bartender. She gave some suggestions since it was our first time there.
What was not appreciated was after using a dustpan, broom and mop on the floor, hands were not washed before bringing us share plates and had fingers on our napkins.
Sticking your fingers inside customers dirty beverage glasses to clear the table it not a good, healthy practice. It should be a health code violation.
Overall there are many other places in the area to dine at.
I know it's a new building and I know you have a heater but it sure wasn't being used when we dined there. Please don't freeze your customers out. This isn't Waffle House. WH purposely keeps it cold in order to turn more tables.
12/13/23. Stopped in for dinner. Started with beef short rib empanadas. Chill vibes with light and airy decor. I ordered the steak tsunami bowl, Hubby ordered tacos. Great food. Great prices.
Beautiful place! A little hard to find as it’s behind Paris Baguette. Sat at the bar and June took care of us. Margaritas were great! The short rib empanadas and fried cauliflower were mouth watering. Tacos are a must.
Not sure about the reviews about gnats, I didn’t have that problem
We’ve been looking forward to their opening for a while and Taqueria Tsunami did not disappoint.
We were seated immediately on a Thursday evening. The hostess welcomed us with a smile and was very kind. Our server followed up with the same friendly attitude. She gave us recommendations and was attentive.
The Short Rib Nachos are a steal. From the fresh toppings to the generous portion of meat and the creamy queso, these are delicious. The Noodle Salad with sirloin tips was equally as tasty and beautifully presented. Finishing off with the S’more Egg Rolls was a perfect choice to a memorable first meal here.
We will be back soon and look forward to sampling the many tacos and bowls they offer. All the best!
Finding this place was a little difficult at first due to new construction but it is connected to Paris Baguette. My girlfriend and I are lucky we found it though! We came opening night, 10/6/23, and we were seated and greeted quickly. The ambiance was nice and clean as well as the table and utensils.
We started off with a calamari for an appetizer and we really loved the green sauce that came with it. We also got two cocktails that are very reasonably priced and very tasty. For entrees, we had two rice bowls: the poke bowl and the southwest bowl. The poke bowl was great; it had fresh tasting ingredients and just the right amount of sauce. The southwest bowl had steak that was cooked perfectly however we do wish there was more diverse texture of the dish, maybe something crunchy would help as there was quite a lot of rice.
Overall, I’d be glad to come back and try out other items on the menu. There’s plenty of items to choose from so there is always something for everyone!
