Black Walnut Cafe

I was here on 9/2/19 around 3:45 p.m. and a waitress named Meaghan served me ice cream and coffee with such kindness. Also, an old gentlemen that replaced coffee was very nice as well. Thanks to him, i was able to drink fresh coffee. Thank you all for great hospitality!

Enjoyed the Black Walnut. Food was warm and tasty. The setup was a little different. The greeter at the door was very informative and hands you a menu. You walk up to a register order your food and you are given a table tracker. While you're waiting for food you get your own drinks, coffee, silverware and napkins. There is no wait service involved. It was different but nice.

Like a slightly fancier Jason's deli. Got the turkey meatloaf and it was nothing special. The turkey croissant sandwich was great though. You order your food and then you seat yourself and they bring it to you. Good casual place to eat lunch or brunch, but not as fancy as I thought based on the photos.

Overall, this place has a neat atmosphere but lacks some management and service.

The food was pretty good but didn’t come out at the same time so that was a little disappointing but I guess that’s what happens when you order in line individually rather than being waited on.

We were also slightly annoyed that we had to ask more than a few times for the self-serve coffee to be refilled... that shouldn’t happen at a brunch spot.

I would definitely give the spot another try and would recommend.
