    I decided to try Dorothy Mae's because I love soul food and I support any new Black owned business that I find. The establishment is clean and the front counter person was friendly. My food was cold (but nothing my microwave couldn't fix). I had hoped that my chicken would be fried fresh to order but I could tell that it wasn't. It had a good flavor but tasted more like the chicken wings I get from a Chinese food restaurant versus a soul food restaurant. The collards had a good flavor but were missing the meat that was shown on the pictures. This may be to make sure they have a vegetarian option. The mac & cheese and cornbread were good. I had my mouth set for the chocolate cake to taste like yellow cake but it was a lemon flavor instead. My husband enjoyed the cake. Overall, I would try again and maybe try the fish or shrimp instead.
