Golden Krust Caribbean Restaurant

Went in after a seminar wanting a beef patty, they were out so I got the Jerk chicken....It was delicious! Even close to closing time they were still fresh and popping hot! *Sorry no pics I ate them w/o thinking*

I visit Golden Krust quiet a few times for lunch throughout the week and try the different lunch special eats they have. I typically try the curry chicken which is not as favorable as I would like hince the four stars. But the oxtail and rice and peas are delicious just very expensive. I enjoy the brown stew chicken and white rice but it can be hit and miss. The brown stew chicken and plantains are flavorful and delicious the meat is well cooked. They always greet me when I come in and thw staff try to keep the line down. Overall the food is good food and recommend stopping by for a taste of Caribbean flavors.

So I had the taste for some Jamaican patties. I stopped by here and decided to get the veggie patty as well as a shrimp patty. The prices are pretty decent for the patties. The veggie patty is $2.20 and the shrimp patty is $2.65. I had never had the shrimp patty and wasn't really sure how I would like it but it was super duper tasty. I was definitely a little disappointed with the veggie patty, which had a lot of the frozen mixed vegetables in it, which I tend not to like. Definitely was not authentic, definitely was not homemade, and I definitely will not order it again. Both were very flaky, which was a plus. The restaurant was busy, so I'm assuming the rest of the food is really good. I've never had it so I can't speak much on that. The restaurant was very clean and the staff was also friendly. I did like how they put the patties inside a wrapper that specified which patty I had. Definitely plan to return to get the shrimp patty only.

Food smells amazing when you walk in and they have some authentic food choices such as the Jamaican Breakfast and Fish Head soup. They ran out of the Curry goat and chicken so I was kinda of upset about that but the stew chicken was delicious and not too salty. Very clean store but can use some music to tie in the atmosphere. Without it, it can have a depressing feeling. The staff is friendly but look like they are in autopilot but helpful no less. Positive experience and good food. Overall a positive experience.
