Excellent food and excellent service. Had the crab cake and shrimp combo with sweet potato souffle and grits for sides. Way more food than I could eat. Had a wait of about 40 minutes to be seated, but it was beautiful outside so we sat waterside and enjoyed a drink. Would definitely return here if on the area.

It was Friday night and hopping with a 45 minute wait to be seated. The deck/dock overlooking the river made the time pass quickly.

There was a breeze which was comfortable after the 97° high. The breeze kept the bugs away.

The service was awesome. No less than four staff visited and tended to our needs. The entire crew hustled the entire time! No one dining was left wanting.

I ordered the half and half combo (crab cake and blackened grouper fillet). The blackened grouper was saltier than I prefer, but cooked to perfection. The crab cake was large with very little filler. See photo with fork for perspective. My companion ordered broiled shrimp which were perfectly prepared.

This was our first visit, but won't be our last.
Thank you for a delightful dining experience.

My Uncle and I like to check out new places and I had heard good things about Skippers. On a Friday afternoon we took off from Savannah, heading towards Jekyll Island and found ourselves at Skippers for lunch. We shared a Captain's platter and it was delicious. The catch of the day was grouper, which was included on the platter. It was so good and you could taste the freshness of the fish. The Georgia shrimp to me is the best and they didn't miss a beat. I will definitely be coming!

Excellent. Had fish (grouper) and grits. Not over spiced and the fish was so good. Probably the best sweet potato souffle I have ever had. Totally recommend Skipper's.
