The view is great. Loved the sandwich I had while here. A little hidden gem. Make sure to get the coffee as well!
The campground has been permanently closed since 12/2018. Wildcat Diner will reopen on 5/27/2019 under new management. Stop by and try it out.
Thanks for the loyal support over the years!
A great place to chill for a weekend. We called and they lady said, just hook up and check in. If you're late (we were) she said just check-in the next day. Easy peezy.
We did not use the bath house or laundry. We just hooked up our R/V and spent the weekend laughing and leaving the world behind.
We will be back.
This is my second time here and I have enjoyed the tranquility and peacefulness of this campground. Not to mention the beautiful mountain
scenery all year around. Me and my wife came here this time with a big rig 41 foot. and Don the owner made arrangements to accommodate us. His hospitality is the best I have ever encountered at an RV campground. He has added several cabins now. Fishing pond is great. If you want to have a tremendous mountain getaway I highly recommend The Wildcat Lodge and Campground.
Recently my wife and I escaped the hub bub of traffic, lights and noise; and escaped to the north Georgia mountains at Wildcat Lodge & Campgrounds. If you want to get away from it all, this is the place! Remote, quiet with breathtaking views on the drive there, this is a great location to see stars in the sky like you have maybe never seen them before. Next time, we will bring our telescope.
Proprietor Donald was great to work with and described the property precisely as we found it. As he said, this is not a Marriott. This is rustic and charming. Escape with a book, take a walk through the woods and take a drive into Dahlonega for a fine meal.
Our only concern was the heavy rain that invaded the area during our stay, which made the roads upon on the mountain more challenging than we desired - being flatlanders and all.
