Extra-starchy and somewhat dry rice. Small portion bento boxes. We sat and ate at the restaurant, which is definitely set up for takeout rather than dine-in. I won't be back. Too many other places to try.

I'm so happy Kozo Sushi is open again at Kahala Mall! I know this is not fancy sushi, but I'm always looking for an easy, reasonably healthy, grab n' go option that's not deep fried fast food. Plus, sushi rolls and spam musubis are something my entire family will eat which is a small miracle in itself.

During my visit a friendly Japanese woman took my order and it only took a few minutes for them to prep my take away. I love the giant menu at the front counter because it details exactly what's in all their rolls in giant bold face type. Kozo sushi makes everything from traditional nigiri to hand rolls to sushi bentos and platters! Again, it's not high end sushi, but it's easy grab and go when you need a quick meal or for potlucks because the price point is very reasonable.

There isn't a huge seating area, but there's counter seating if you want to eat your food in an air-conditioned spot. Plus lots of easy 15 minute parking right out front!

Came here on my lunch break since the ramen shop next door wasn't open yet; as I wanted to have some soup since I was starting to feel a bit under the weather. Ordered the tempura udon. Food was good, I literally got what I ordered.
    It came out quickly.
The cashier seemed sleepy or like she didn't want to be at work; could've been a little more friendly and not so.. monotone, or at least smile.
Or maybe I'm just having an off day.

Another time, the cashier (not the same one) almost gave my order to someone else that didn't even order that. If I hadn't gone up to go get it and let her know that it was what I ordered, she probably would've let him walk out with it (even though he ordered 2 sets, and mine was only 1).

Definitely quantity, not quality. Ask my wife, she can't tell the difference. I'm a picky eater, which this lacked flavor and sustenance, due to the meat/veggie to rice ratio overly favoring rice. The one item I did think was great was the Unagi sashimi. Their "Wasabi" was tasteless and had zero kick to it. That's a big deal for me. I need it to destroy my nasal cavity. Customer service was good. I was treated nicely and the food was ready on time. Depending on the type of person you are will dictate if this food will suffice. My wife would return, I wouldn't.
