These reviews are for Prawn Star and The Ramen Bar in The Food Hall by Michael Mina
I really enjoyed the salmon from The Ramen Bar. I asked the lady taking the order to cook it medium rare for me. When I came she showed me my salmon and asked me if it was ok which I thought was really nice. It came with a huge portion of rice and an assortment of Japanese pickles. Each of them tasted delicious. Thoroughly enjoyed my meal from here and the location was walking distance literally across the street from our hotel. It was really convenient for me to pick up the food and eat in the convenience of our room with my family.
While I got salmon for myself from The Ramen Bar, hubby wanted the chicken Katsu from Prawn Star. The portion was huge. It came with a generous portion of rice, Mac salad and I chose double order of kimchi instead of coleslaw. The Katsu was crispy and tasty. The sides were delicious and they guys working behind the counter was friendly and helpful. Both our meals from the food hall was convenient and just what we needed after being in the car all day long.
We love this place it is fantastic and excellent at happy hour!
Definitely check out Mi Allmita for a killer happy hr and the strongest frozen drinks in town!
Nice variety of street food. They keep it simple with a limited menu at each spot and nice seating options inside and outside. They give you pagers that you can take outside, but it can be hard to claim your food if other people are ordering, since each spot is manned by only a couple of employees. It's nice that they bus the tables and plenty of napkins and utensils are available in between the vendors. The pizza was great even if the guy selling it was pretty unenthusiastic about helping customers.
Leaving this review for "Indie Girl" at the food hall. Fantastic food, you can tell a lot of thought went into it. Love the salad, Buddah bowl, and I don't usually order salads.
Pros:
- yummy, creative dishes with lots of flavours.
- didn't get disappointed from any of the foods I got.
Cons:
- price point, but everything there is around the same.
- I left wanting a couple more bites. The portion sizes were good for a regular person I think, but I do eat a lot.
