Service was excellent. Pancakes were fluffy and delicious. So big, my son had to take half of it home. The Frozen Mango and the Frozen coffee drinks were super good. Pastries fresh and still warm
Had the locomoco. Took quite sometime to get. The cashier lady was very nice and friendly. The place is well kept and plenty of seat. Parking is a bit scarce though.
Waioli Tea House used to be the home of one of the big old monied families. They let Robert Louis Stevenson have a hut here to live and write. His hut is there (restored). He and Mark Twain and several other literary greats lived here in Hawaii.
The Waioli Tea House ran here from 1922 till about 2017. I enjoyed that and the Tea time very much. The vibe is less local now, and there's no tea house or its menu.
The kitchen and bake shop is now run by the Salvation Army as a work program. Foods good, and you can still see the grounds, hut and get married at the church next door in the shared parking lot.
Came here twice within a week with friends to enjoy their peaceful Old Hawai’i ambiance and to support their mission to provide vocational training as part of their substance abuse disorder recovery program. The cool Mānoa Valley breezes and historic structure takes you back in time (early 1900) as you dine in this one-story Bungalow-style structure.
The menu is limited but offers something for everyone. There is no table service so you step up to the front counter to order, get a order number and seat yourself. Your food & beverage will be delivered to you. If you want coffee refills, just bring your disposable cup that was given to you to their counter and they’ll refill it for you.
Please be patient and don’t expect resort perfection as all meals are prepared and served by trainees. They have in-house made breads and pastries that support their menu and you can even purchase items to-go.
Breakfast is served all-day, starting at 7:30am and ending at 2:00pm. Lunch service starts at 11:00am and ends at 2:00pm. Days of operation are Tuesday through Sunday.
Originally opened in 1922, remodeled and reopened in 2018. Beautifully done, the staff is so kind, and the location is so peaceful. Hours are 7:30 - 2:30, Tuesday - Sunday (closed Monday). Casual environment, great pastries, drinks, and also larger entrees like Short Rib Loco Moco or eggs and bacon for breakfast. Their mission is amazing too. Definitely recommend!
