S&S Thai Kitchen

Food is decent and the vegan options are plentiful, but don't go here if you're in a hurry. There is only one server, who does a great job, but there are over 10 tables that she alone helps. It took us 45 mintues to get our check once we were done eating, and another 15 to get our credit cards back.

The place is nice but a bit hidden. Overall experience was good. Only one server so do expect it to be a bit slow. But she was very nice. I got massuman curry and jasmine rice. Portion was a lot and I had to take half the dish back with me. Food wasn’t exceptional but it wasn’t bad either. Some place I’ll go again when I just need to enjoy some food and chill and not be in a rush.
The only reason I took away a star is because the door was open the whole time. Which itself is fine but birds kept flying in. Again itself is whatever but on more than one occasion the birds sat on tables and I wonder, since they have their plates out, if any bird sat on it? And if so, how sanitary is that?

My fiancé and I happened to walk past this restaurant and decided to try it. Although they only had 1 waitress on staff, she was extremely hardworking and upbeat and the service was excellent. They were a little busy that night so we had to wait a little, but it was worth it for the delicious dishes and large portions! The papaya salad was one of the best I've had. Definitely beat my favorite Thai restaurant back home in Seattle. Will certainly be back before heading home!

I enjoyed my Panang chicken curry and the flavors were spicy and hot like the way it should be with Thai food. Fresh vegetables and quality meat was used adding to the quality of my dish. Although I only had the one item, I could tell they know what they are doing as far as it goes with quality Thai food and not just slapping it out for the tourist who are looking for something exotic.

The service was friendly and prompt. Location clean, but a little lack luster as it is very noticeable that they took over a location of another restaurant, but if you go for the food, it is just fine to over look as I mentioned before, it is clean. It is also down set from the sidewalk and street, so there is no street noise, how ever they were playing a local radio station on their sound system and the advertisements were a bit annoying in the background.

Because I am all about the food usually, I will definitely go back to this place and try some of their other dishes. Menu was extensive and I would like to try some of their other offering for sure.

Recently returned from a 10 Day stay in Hawaii and couldn’t wait to review the S & S Thai Restaurant in Waikiki, near our hotel in Oahu, Hawaii. We dined here for 3 dinners and totally enjoyed each and every one of the dinners. The Drunken Noodle was to die for, delicious Green Curry, and the most terrific Pad Thai ever. The restaurant has a very simple design, which we enjoyed and seemed to be family owned. The gentleman that seated us explained that he was a local and lived on the Big Island all his life. He was very friendly and made you feel right at home. Don’t miss this gem. We can't wait to return!!!!!
