Sunset Smokehouse

I was stationed both at Fort Hood and Fort Bliss and some of my fondest memories are of Texas BBQ.

Ive eaten all types of styles in the US and abroad, and Texas has always had a special spot for BBQ for me.

This place not only sated my cravings for Texas Q, but also beats the brisket I make and alot of the Texas joints ive eaten at in Texas by a long long shot. You will be seeing alot of me, Sunset Smokehouse.

I don’t normally rate a place 5 stars but this one is fantastic! We just picked it up for my birthday lunch today and we had the brisket, pulled pork, potato salad, coleslaw and pinto beans and everything was fantastic! The food is well seasoned and very tender we will definitely be back again!!!

Easily in the top 1% of US BBQ Joints. He had his smokers shipped in from TX and only uses TX wood. Had the brisket (point/flat mix) with all of the sides. Everything was top notch. Owner is cool AF. Highly recommended!

Don't put this place off any longer! Sunset serves by far the best Texas Barbecue I have had outside of Texas. It reminds me of Rudy's and was so delicious we could hardly get enough. The staff was friendly and available and makes this place a must needed addition to our rotation of feel good restaurants. My favorite was the moist brisket and traditional sides. They got it all right.

Absolutely the best place on Oahu for brisket. This is the closest thing there is than actually being in Texas when it comes to brisket and it is absolutely delicious. I haven't gotten around to trying anything else but from the way the brisket is prepared, I'm sure all the other craft meats on the menu are just as good. So for now, I can only truly vouch for the brisket, but if you love brisket like I do, then you will love it from Sunset Smokehouse. Make sure to go early or risk not getting what you want because he does sell out.
