Great little spot next to the river. Meal was reasonably priced with favorable portions.
The Locking Horns Riverside Restaurant is an awesome venue with a perfect location on the Payette River, a short hop north of Boise. The atmosphere is relaxed and family-friendly. The staff treats you like family, and even better the food is top notch! I'm a major fan of the Back the Blue burger, and the owners donate a portion of those proceeds to different law enforcement agencies throughout Idaho! I also recommend the ribeye. I could not recommend this restaurant more highly for both families out for a weekend adventure or a picturesque date night dinner. You won't regret your choice to visit this little Idaho gem!
I always have a good experience at the locking horns Riverside restaurant. It is a great place to stop for a meal after coming off of the river or coming back from camping, hiking or Hot Springing. The food is very tasty. The weight staff are attentive, energetic and friendly. The prices are good. We drove from the Kuna area area to the locking horns in a downpour and back home in a blizzard and it was worth the drive. The remodel that was done has made the restaurant wheelchair friendly. The back patio is awesome for Summertime and shoulder season dining experiences. The owners are very appreciative of veterans and law enforcement and are very community minded. I love what they have done with the place. If you’re going for the prime rib make sure you go early it is so good it sells out quickly. Last year we had a group of about 40 and we all ate dinner after spending a day on the Payette river white water rafting. We ate in the restaurant and I ordered a couple of meals to go. It was not a problem.
We stopped in on a drive up the 54 and were greeted by a smiling face as soon as we walked in. The service was great, the ambiance was amazing, and the food was pretty decent for a "mountain" town. Overall worth the stop but don't expect gourmet food, I got a salad that was good but not life changing by any means. Still amazing staff and a cool place to visit. Cow decor is AMAZING!
This is greatly improved from when I visited a few years ago. New restrooms made a great difference and the outside and inside are spacious and attractive. Our waitress was top notch. We'll go back again.
