Order food, then drinks, then pick a table. Small seating area, friendly staff, and their homemade fresh bread is amazing!

Popped out for a quick midweek getaway. Little s'more spendy than we would normally do but we were enjoying ourselves and the food was delicious. Wonderful views if you sit out back no matter what time of year!

We have been here several times over the years, and the food has always been good. The variety and quality of soups and sandwiches they have is what brings us back. Their bread is amazing! And, the view is good, especially in the summer when the lake is full.

The food is not the same as it used to be. It tastes good, but the servings are sub par. The low carb plate had barely 1 ounce of chicken, not even a serving. The bowl of soup was only half full. And the sandwich made as a lettuce wrap was not a wrap at all, but the lettuce was flat like bread. Impossible to eat. I had to cut it up into a salad, making a mess all over my plate. If they cant make a lettuce wrap, they should offer it as a salad. Service and atmosphere are nice though.

So I FINALLY got to eat here. Catching them open when you work a "typical" job is difficult at best unless you work right downtown Sandpoint and can slip in on your lunch. If you are able to visit, you shouldn't be disappointed. I was greeted by the owner upon my arrival and he patiently answered questions while I tried to make up my mind.

They have a small selection of beer on tap and some bottled. I was impressed with the water station that offered not only iced plain but lemon or cucumber for that little extra freshness. I settled on a half sandwich and cup of soup but since I was hungry and this place IS called "Spuds" I opted to add a baked potato too...and yes, I did in fact eat it all.

The sandwich was hearty and thick cut turkey as was the bacon. The bread he has made locally with his own recipe and was fresh and fluffy even being the end of the day. The tomato bisque was a great accompaniment and warmed me up. There were several soups to choose from. I'm glad I got the potato as it really hit the spot. It came loaded with 2 types of cheese, bacon, and sour cream all drizzled with clarified butter. If you'd like to control your amounts of toppings I suggest asking for it on the side. I love me some sour cream but it was a tad much.

I'm very much looking forward to returning again and trying other things. Hopefully before tourist season starts although because I hear there can be lines out the door!
