This was me n my wife’s first time and we couldn’t have picked a better spot to eat gotta come early right when it opens though because it gets packed quick
. Comfort food is saying the least because baybee this food came straight from the soul. The wife had this fried catfish that was delicious I swear I had to get a bite and it didn’t need no hot sauce or salt n pepper I was happy, then her sides was Mac n cheese and yams n let me tell you the Mac n cheese you can tell was made from scratch sooooo cheesy but good and the yams had just a little something extra in it to give it that umph ya know!!! I’ll let there secret ingredient stay secret but whatever it was I enjoyed every bit of my wife’s plate lol. Then I had the tenderest short rib on the planet and that also didn’t need any extra sauces or salt n pepper I was in paradise with every bite, then my sides were the same as my wife’s Mac n cheese with the yams and every bite had a mmmmmmm sound right after. Along with that we wanted to try the greens and meatloaf just because that’s our home fav. however, it was no surprise that it was also finger lickin good. Then to top everything off we got the banana pudding and the peach cobbler and me n my wife couldn’t decide so we just tried each others lol beyond a doubt 5.0 stars and me n my family just found our new soul food soulmates thank you!!!
Today was extremely better. The young lady serving was straight forward but friendly and the lady at the counter(ringing people out) was extremely friendly. No long wait. Excellent!
So I’ve ordered from this establishment about 4 times(maybe 5 but I can’t remember) before. The major vice that I have is the wait time. Typically buffet style dinner places, the food is always ready. Usually there is a wait on the meats and the people making the plates are very friendly but seem to be a little all over the place. If they had a little more structure to the way that the patrons are being serviced, I’d have no problem giving 5 stars. But the food is usually on point.
This was my first time here and it's a hit! They have REAL banana pudding! I had catfish, Mac, black eyed peas, green, cranberry sauce, banana pudding, and peach cobbler. Not the biggest fan of the Mac, only because I like to see my cheese pulling from the fork. Theirs is more creamy. I was a little sad my cup of cobbler was the corner and was mostly dough, but it was still good. I will be coming back.
