“This place has been open since I've been born, and if you didn't grow up here, your father and likely grandfather as well. They serve great diner food with a great uptown Blue Island view. Awesome for breakfast! Good for hangovers, if you live here and actually still haven't been here yet. (Only 4 stars because I'm rooting for smaller breakfast places to strive in this town AND I eat here maybe 4 times a year.)”

“There were alot of enabling factors opening day so this just left room for improvement. The bar tender who served me and took my order was so polite and helping. There was a mistake in the system and I noticed it on my receipt she was talking to her managers fixing it before I could even speak back with her. The wait for the food was a bit long but it was first day and the weather was bad. So I saw shipments were delayed. If they are allowing to go orders better togo silverware should be purchased. The decor of the place is AMAZING!! The dj was on point! Will be back to experience the night time vybe!!! Please keep it up we need this in the community. Keep trained servers and cooks pleeease.”

“I usually don't go to places out south but this spot is really nice. The DJ played a variety of music that catered to everyone and the drinks were good. I went on a Saturday night and it wasn't crowed at all, which I was pleased to see. The kitchen was open late and they seasoned the heck out of the fries shrimp, wings and fries! Man... I know we were drinking, but the food was really good and the cook did a great job getting us so really tasty food. I'd go back to sit at the bar, watch a game and have a few drinks and shrimp.”

It looks like a store front, slash liquor store, and down home goodness lost in the mix of chaos. "I think I just described a birds eye view of my experience of Black Life." It may look a little different to the world outside but it's home and filled with love and other good stuff no matter what! This is a "Black Experience." Made me miss my Grandma Lucille, Auntie Thee, and Grand Daddy R. Smith. If you want a story to tell take friends, take family, and take strangers. Ask about the Geno's History and find out the second name of the same location. Tell them Shani sent you. Most certainly an experience to remember.
