What I find most appealing about Goosefoot is not just the wonderful creative cuisine, among the best in Chicago, but that it is so clearly the unique expression of Chef Chris Nugents not often that you come to a meal and find yourself entirely absorbed into one persons vision, but here you are. I remember taking a look into the kitchen once and realizing that the entire meal was prepared by Chris alone. A 10-12 course meal of he highest precision and standards. How he manages that I will never understand, but each time I visit I feel myself absorbed into his world, and it’s a glorious experience. Along with Nina they have created one of the most unique culinary experiences you could dream of. So step inside, settle in, and watch the food and art evolve over the course of your meal. Yes, it does take a bit of waiting up front for the machine to wind up, but once it comes, you will be awed. There is just nothing like it. Worth the dollar, worth the travel
Presentation is one of the best I have seen apart from the Pergola in Rome. Based on the menu description we had selected vines, but unfortunately it was a poor match. This really took away from the experience. It was also noisy, and at times, we had difficulty carting private conversation. We probably be back for one more take on it.
I truly enjoyed this restaurant, the food is incredible, plus the shower rooms were not bad for public. It was a little cool indoors, so that was not totally cool. The host is excellent as well. I will certainly think about returning once more if I ever land the possibility. Me and my buddy purchased the works and we were not disappointed. My one tip is to keep the cool outside. Thanks!
It was a wonderful experience. The food was great. The presentation outstanding. The staff very welcoming, knowing our names. Music themed and at a level that permitted conversation. I can't wait to go back.
This high end, prefix menu is the best in Chicago IMHO. How this place is only one Michelin star is beyond me. Service was incredible as well. The wife/husband team are extremely friendly. She sets the theme which they change up and the dude cooks, and does it well. BYOB is certainly a nice touch and helps take a slight blow off the price. Worth it times 100.
