I’ve been coming here since high school (very early aughts) and it’s consistently delicious. The sandwiches are wonderful and the bagels and cream cheese are some of the best in the city. My favorite sandwiches are the Dirty Swede and the Belmont.
This place is super cool, the food is incredible. I wish they would be more clear on how there ordering process goes because it is a little kaotic. And a lot of the customers were rude and unhelpful to a newbie. Which I don't fault the business but maybe if they were more aware of new customers and how to give them a good experience. Still loved the food.
As a Miami University alumnus that gets a drunk craving for Bagel & Deli (the mother restaurant of CBA) this is the best thing to see in Chicago. They have quirky, steamed bagel sandwiches that taste amazing and cure any munchies or hangover that you have. Great to see the homage to some Oxford, OH Staples and some originals as well.
Love this place. Best steamed bagle in town. Menu can be overwhelming for the uninitiated. But it's sorted by protein so easy enough to figure out. Another 'gotcha' is that there is no line. Just belly up to the bar and wait for an avaliable bagel-person to take your order. They do have a quaint/scrubby patio out the back door as well. Nice for kiddos or of you just want to be outside. Cookies are solid too!
I love you sandwiches here. They are all served on bagels and the menu is organized by meat choices, so it's easy to find what you want. I like the Mathilda and the Konrad. When you go, be prepared for the possibility of uncensored rap music. The last time I went, I saw a couple people enter the store and leave without ordering because the music was distasteful to them.
