Overall: Come for the atmosphere and stay for the food, Blue Door is a great brunch or lunch option.
The good: The atmosphere is a "Fixer Upper" watcher's dream. The decor and ambiance are airy, bright, rustic, and warm all at the same time, and plants are everywhere. Couldn't ask for anything better. The food is the same, comforting and fulfilling with plenty of flavors, with a nice touch of honey for our fruit side as well.
The not-so-good: A little too expensive and a somewhat limited brunch menu. But honestly, not too much to complain about, just not a "5 star" experience.

Food was absolutely AMAZING!! Jen was our server and she was sooo nice:) with great customer service skills! This was a nice last spot to stop before heading back home to San Diego!
Today, Feb 28, 4 of us had lunch upstairs. The food was very good but we did have issues with the service. The waiter took very long to come to the table, never introduced himself and looked very disheveled and out of it. The latte took over 10 minutes to get to us and was hard to get regular coffee refills. I'd definitely go back and hope they address the service issue.
It's a darling restaurant, with a nice selection. I believe it's all farm to table, so items are fresh and change seasonally. I met a friend for dinner, but wasn't really hungry and opted for tea - their tea cups are tiny, just a bit larger than an espresso cup. Server was alright, overly attentive early on, when we hadn't even looked at the menu but then harder to track down once we recieved our order. Not sure I would recommend going out of your way, but if you are in the neighborhood, it's a cute local Lincoln Park spot.
