    Love this place. The owner Owen is a class act. He happens to be from Limerick IR , my great grandfather was the Mayor of Limerick back the early 1900's so I feel connected.

    The first time we stopped in here was actually by mistake - and what a great mistake it turned out to be! They have a super friendly staff, high-quality and tasty food, and tons of drink options with great beers on tap. We ended up spending a good chunk of our New Years Eve here and had a blast!

    Very solid food. Their brunch is great. Their menu isn't large, which is perfect and the quality you get it really good. The drink specials or kinda hit or miss, but the selection makes up for it. The people are friendly and attentive and the vibe is positive. Good spot for meeting friends after work, Sunday brunch, or a random evening brew.
    The only negative is based on personal preference. Lincoln Square bars are typically more of a neighborhood blue collar vibe. Gideon Welles seems to attract more of the "just moved from Lincoln Park to here cause the burbs were too far" kinda folks. Which works, but it can be a buzz kill if you've been rolling through neirborhood for a while.
