The Hot Cocoa is AMAZING! It's a must try. I never knew that I could love popcorn this much until now. You have to try it when you can. Its seasonal...but when you see they have it taste it and tell me you like it.

Very clean operation. Staff seem happy and very attentive. Carmel and cheese mixed awesome. New hot coco mix has Chocolate covered popcorn with caramel corn in a salty sweet explosion. On holiday place is super crowded. Popcorn made on sight and extremely fresh. Buy big the little bag will not be enough. Would rate 5 star but price is very high. Plenty of free parking in area. Immediate area around mini mall safe 3 blocks away hold onto that purse.

Garrett's Popcorn has been one of many "Chicago-style Foods" for many years. I will not say how years I've been eating popcorn from there. I don't know if it is just me. Garrett's Popcorn doesn't taste quite like it used to. My friend from out of town, who is a Native Chicagoan dragged me in to take popcorn home to her husband noticed the change too. Don't get me wrong. It is still good. The flavor is just slightly different . There are some additional options that I found to be tasty like the caramel corn with pecans. If you have a sweet tooth you will be equally delighted. However, my favorite is still the ever-popular Chicago Mix with cheese popcorn/plain caramel combo (I like mine with a little more caramel.) For people who prefer savory more than sweet I recommended getting more cheese than caramel corn. I think Garrett's will continue to be a local and tourist favorite for many years to come in spite of the recipe tampering! I have not asked anyone from Garrett's Popcorn to confirm that the recipe has been altered.
