Great food! Not at all fancy but clean, hospitable and welcoming.
My husband ordered the gumbo, red beans and rice with an order of buttermilk drop biscuits. LOVED IT!! The gumbo was thick and packed with stuff - chicken, sausage, seafood etc. The biscuits were awesome as well. Great for sopping up the last of the gumbo. :-)
I ordered the shrimp and grits. At firat glance, I wondered if it would be enough. It was. The grits were creamy and cheesy. The perfect compliment to the shrimp.
I made a mistake and ordered a Hurricane. The drink was just fine but I was just shy of drunk after drinking one. Not sure why I ordered a second one. Yes I do - it was so darn tasty!
Great music was there as well. We were there for a Saturday Brunch and they had a band called GREASY GRAVY playing. Sounded like we were on the Bayou. Authentic.
Great service. Very courteous, knowledgeable about the menu and friendly. Not just our server but almost every employee that walked past us checked on us without being intrusive. Eye contact and smiling eyes mean a lot.
We will definitely return and bring our children.
Definitely a good way to start the weekend….a perfect Thursday night “Happy Hour”! Nice neighborhood find in a lively, upbeat, diverse area on the North side! Blackened Shrimp Po’ Boy is a vid sandwich. Want to try the sliders next, the mango frozen drink was very good. No complaints on the Chicken tenders and Mac&Cheese, although the mac&chs needs to be served in a small bowl or dish, not plastic.
Something different than your average chain! The wife & Daughter has been trying to get here for the longest, today was an opportunity to make it happen! Its soul food with a twist of New Orleans, nice decor to match theme! They also have live music 🎶 as well. The food was good and flavorful. The wait staff is awesome and attentive. I definitely recommend this establishment, and yes I will be back. 👍🏽
Food was very good and the service was friendly and good. One concern, we were a party of 6 and the gratuity was not added to the printed bill. I believe when we divided the checks evenly by 3, we all signed and added tips . In later discussions its thought the credit card amounts had been divided by 3 and rung up with gratuity already added. Is this something honest staff would tell you or correct? Be careful here
If you want a New Orleans vibe to hang out, good service, and a yummy sweet tea you should definitely check them out…
However, if you are like me and want delicious food I would say to be cautious when ordering. In my case, the food was a hit or miss.
Note: I really wanted to love this place the way I love frontier, but the food I ordered was sadly underwhelming. The shrimp in my fried shrimp po’boy tasted like store bought boiled shrimp and the blue crab fondue tortilla chips tasted like store bought tortilla chips. 😭😢
Unfortunately, I can only recommend the sweet tea and hush puppies.
Sweet tea was a 11/10 (must have!!!)
Hush puppies were a 10/10!
