La Catedral Cafe - North Lawndale

The food was great. I like that the new place is a lot bigger and open. I went during a weekday morning and there was no waiting time, which I really liked. The only thing I didn't love was the service. I didn't feel like the waiter was attentive.

This was my first time at this new location. The only downside was the wait for food. It wasn’t much of an issue until I noticed people with more guests in their group received their order, arrived after us, and our server had yet to come check-in or provide an update on our food. My boyfriend and I only ordered two paninis and waited 45 minutes without any checkin from our server. When we asked for the bill, I ordered two coffees to go to only be charged & given one. When checking out at the front, I was asked about our experience. I briefly expressed my disappointment but did not want to make it a huge deal or be “that” person. The front cashier offered to give us the missing coffee on the house. I said I was okay, but he insisted. If it wasn’t for his interaction here, I’m sure I would have walked out disappointed and probably not come back to the new location. The customer service here was one that made all the difference. He genuinely cared and heard me out and wanted to make it right. I did not get his name and wish I did, because he made all the difference.

EXCELLENT PLACE... Good Food...the Cafe de la olla.. Absolutely Delicious..I visited Friday morning.. Beautiful place.. Beautiful Decor ..this location is beautiful as the one at 26th Street..

Cafe de Olla is luke warm, not hot at all. We Asked the Server to warm it up more, she said she couldn’t . Add creamer and coffee is even colder. We’re off to a bad start, first time visiting NL location. Service not the greatest. 18% tip added for 5 or more people.

Amazing ambience, beautiful decorations and delicious food. This restaurant was well needed in this neighborhood.
