Came here for a romantic dinner with my partner. Dressed up fancy for a nice place with excellent food that we kept getting recommendations for.

We had some octopus (best I've ever had), and maybe 3-4 more items off of the menu, but the octopus blew my mind.

The wine selection (specifically the Rosé) was absolutely delicious. My girlfriend and I got the wine and we absolutely loved it. The octopus The waiter recommended was delicious. I wouldn't get the sushi, but instead some of the other entrees. The sushi was honestly mid. Other than that the place was a great date night.

Food is amazing. The server was attentive. The smell of the dishes passing by is very pleasant while sipping on a cocktail. Try the downstairs bar also if you happen to not be able to make a reservation. The only thing that damped the experience was the hosts. I arrived early, and I was reminded what time the reservation I had made was. I was told not offered to go downstairs and wait and that I would be notified when my table was ready. I wasn’t expecting a red carpet rollout but at least some kindness for arriving on time. After finishing a drink downstairs for over half an hour still no notice of my table being ready. So I went upstairs and a different host offered me seats by the bar. I kindly reminded the host that my reservation was made at 9 and for a table and reminded her I was there early and that I already waited by the bar. Two minutes later and a combative face later, the host had a nice lady who escorted me and my partner to our table. From then on the experience was great. But such nice places with amazing food and kind attentive servers shouldn’t have to work along side people who offer 40 percent effort while not having to do much of the hard work that the others provide to provide a great meal and experience. I didn’t like hosts that act like bouncers specially when I make a reservation.

The freshest seafood in town! I love everything about this place. The interior design is amazing, always friendly customer service, delicious food and drinks. Perfect place for a date! I love that all sushi rolls are authentic, not your regular Philadelphia rolls. Valet parking is a life saver on Friday and Saturday nights at Fulton Market.

In my opinion, Momotaro is in the cream of the crop group of all restaurants in Chicago. I’ve been 7 times more and have never been disappointed. The nigiri is always flavorful with the sauces and garnishes. Presentation and service is always 10/10. The staff work as a team and food is served at a nice pace. I have never felt rushed here. Great ambiance!
