Top Butcher Market

A couple of months ago, I visited the meat market across the street. I kept missing the hours. I saw the trucks, but I always came too late. So, I finally got someone and the worker told me, oh- You want to go across the street, that is the meat market.
This meat market, is very good, high quality. I, along with my husband lived in Wicker Park, for 8 years. We had a couple of meat markets and seafood markets, Peoria Meat Market and the now closed Issacson & Stein Fish/Seafood Market. Not too many places have a restaurant attached to the meat market. My husband, who passed away last year would have fell in love with this place.
I got the prepared ribs and they were excellent. This market provides all types of seafood, meat, and gourmet sausages, barbeque sauces, spreads and cheeses. Everything you would need for a party. Great GEM!!!!!!!!!!!!

We hosted a birthday party at Top Butcher Market, and I can’t say enough wonderful things about it. First of all, the food is unbelievable. Everything from the steak down to the focaccia bread is outstanding. There was more than enough food to go around, so much so that everyone was able to take to go boxes at the end of the night. The staff was so friendly and helpful, and the atmosphere is unique and fun, especially for an intimate group event. All of our guests can’t stop raving about the whole experience.

I celebrated my bridal shower at Top Butcher Market this past weekend! It was PERFECT, the staff did an amazing job with the cooking class, food presentation and everything else! The food was delicious, the charcuterie board was one of the best I have ever seen, the fresh pasta was so fun, and the steaks were delicious. If you are thinking of doing a girls night, cooking class with friends, bridal/baby shower, or any other event I would recommend booking here at Top Butcher Market!

I don't know where to start so I'm going to jump right in....first off....John the owner..great guy ...friendly...knows his products inside out.I have been getting meat from this guy for quite a while now and have NEVER been even slightly disappointed...the worst thing I can say is the vacuum packaging is tough...you need a sharp knife to even pierce this plastic....Nicki is running this store but it's not a typical store....it's more like local deli mixed with meat shop...stir in a little speak easy vibe and top it off with a beautiful industrial kitchen. This place is gorgeous...check out my pics. Is this place close to my house? NOPE ...But is it definitely worth the trip no matter where you live in this area. If you buy the seasoned pretzels don't get just one...the first one will be gone before you get home.
AN UPDATE TO MY FIRST REVIEW....I don't know what their secret is at this place but the New York strip steaks I bought last week were by far the best that I have ever had. I grilled them 6 minutes on each side and they were perfect. So good that my Vegan sister in law broke her own rules and had a slice of red meat. Her exact words were, " It's steak like this that I really miss". I felt so bad eating the rest of it in front of her, but I managed to get through it. Seriously....you have got to get in here ....everything is great.
