Great cocktails and wine selection, an amazing locally sourced, farm to table menu, very friendly and attentive staff. For city dwellers: it's steps from the Metra station!
Tasty food and cocktails. Great service. Intimate ambiance.
The service was very attentive and helpful without being intrusive throughout our meal. Our server gave us good recommendations on cocktails, portion sizes, and menu items.
We started with an amuse bouche of cheese bread with brown butter. A great bite to get us started and whet our appetites. I ordered the turkey three ways (dark meat dumpling, turkey breast, crispy skin). The crispy dumplings were crazy good. I could eat a whole plate of them. For dessert, we ordered the butter cake. It was a nice treat to accompany our coffee and complete the meal. Light and sweet, but not overly so.
While the rest of the meal was satisfying, there were some things that could have been executed better. We had oysters with a special mignonette which over powered the oyster. The oyster didn't need to be there. The truffle and egg scramble featured grilled toast which was over-charred. The burnt toast flavor was too much for the delicate eggs and truffle.
Very pleasant employees. I liked the fireplace and chairs where we sat while waiting for the room. Attractive bar and good food.
Great food and service. Lots of attention to details. 5 courses with wine pairings, every dish, scrumptious! Nice atmosphere, the bar was busy too, and looked fun.
Enjoyed the selection of farm-to-table offerings and the staff are amazing. We've been here a few times and like the seasonality of the menu. Sometimes we're not exactly sure what we're eating but it's always been good.
