My first time trying Rocket Slice not only did not disappoint, and truly impressed by this absolutely delicious pizza. The cheese stays on the slice, the flavor is excellent. We tried the Detroit, NY, and the pepperoni then each was outstanding.
I had the pepperoni pizza slice and it did not disappoint. It tasted just like real pepperoni, even though its plant based and vegetarian. It was a perfect floppy pie, just like a good New York Pizza should be.
The atmosphere is adorable the service was amazing and fast...we are from Brooklyn and my kids are very picky when it comes to pizza. THEY LOVED IT!! we will definitely be coming here again!
Sarah and I had a chance to try Rocket Slice Pizza, and here's our take:
Best kosher pizza in Chicago! 🍕
(We give it a 3.5/5 on a regular pizza scale.)
The crust is top-notch, with just the right amount of crispiness. However, the cheese was a bit flavorless — as is common with kosher mozzarella, and the sauce was neutral. The faux pepperoni was surprisingly good, with Sarah even saying it was a close second to the real thing.
In addition to the pizza, we also tried the French fries, onion rings, and mac & cheese, which were all delicious. Extra points for the fries coming in a greasy bag!
We did take a star off immediately because there was no place to sit to eat. Additionally, we took half a star off because the staff lacked Midwest friendliness.
Overall, Rocket Slice Pizza is an excellent spot for kosher pizza in Chicago, with a few areas for improvement. We'd recommend giving it a try!
Very original and out of left field with the NY Slices of Pizza. I took a trip to New York for Christmas and my love for NY Slices is an understatement. The cheese pizza was delicious.
