We went to Taco Verde after hearing all the good reviews from my friends in chi town. It's a small privately owned taco place by an amazing young couple. I had this place on my MUST-VISIT list in Chicago.
The owners were on site and were super welcoming, they suggested few of their signature dishes and we ordered them all. Steak & birria tacos are to die for and the birria pizza was super delicious. We also got the scrumptious churros (on the house) we ordered Jarritos drinks to finish our meals.
My girls want to go back to try all the food again. They wish Taco Verde open their branch in Houston soon.
We wish you guys all the best, thank you for your amazing food and warm customer service.
I’m a first generation Mexican American Muslim, this food definitely surprised my wife and I both. You can taste and feel the quality in the food, all halal! We ordered an asada taco dinner with only cilantro as an appetizer; quality meat, fresh cilantro, and full flavor salsa. The rice and beans were also very good, nice flavor and texture to the rice and the blanco beans were a great mix. We then ordered the famous birria pizza, which makes my mouth water to just think about. In the future every time I crave birria it will be from Taco Verde, Alhamdulillah! May Allah continue to bless them for providing the community with some amazing halal Mexican food!
So, I recently had the pleasure of dining at Taco Verde in Glenview, Illinois, and let me tell you—it was an experience to remember! From the moment I walked in, I felt like part of the family. What really stood out to me was their commitment to quality and inclusivity. All the meats are Zabiha Halal certified, which is a big win in my book.
Now, let's talk about the food. I dove into the Surf and Turf Burrito, and oh my goodness, it was packed with flavor! The shrimp and steak were perfectly seasoned, and each bite was a delight. And don't even get me started on the Birria Taco—it was like a flavor explosion in my mouth.
But what really sealed the deal for me was the Jalapeno Cheese Fries. Talk about a game-changer! They were the perfect accompaniment to my meal, adding just the right amount of spice.
Overall, Taco Verde isn't just a restaurant—it's a culinary adventure. With its warm atmosphere, friendly staff, and mouthwatering dishes, it's definitely going to be a regular haunt for me. Trust me, you don't want to miss out on this gem!
This was actually my second time back this week.. I couldn’t stop thinking about the food since I last ate it. The food, the service, the atmosphere… everything was impeccable. The Stelote burrito and the loaded waffle fries are absolutely delicious. Prices are great for the amount of food you get. You can tell the owners care about excellent customer service and providing fresh, good quality, authentic halal Mexican food. Excited to have found my new go to spot for all my taco and burrito cravings!! 10/10 recommend.
The staff was very cool and friendly! These guys know what they’re doing when it comes to AUTHENTIC Mexican food! Taco Verde is definitely on my top 3 favorite Mexican restaurants in the Chicago area. 5.5 stars no doubt!
I had a steak taco bowl and the Birria. Everything had me blown away with the amount of flavor each item has. Quality ingredients for sure.
